Terminal 3 Car Parking, Abu Dhabi International Airport
Few environments test a car parking shade like an international airport: thousands of vehicles a day, strict security protocols, unrelenting sun and zero tolerance for disruption. For the Terminal 3 car parking building expansion at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Hamra Industries delivered cantilever shade systems engineered for exactly these conditions.
The cantilever format was essential — clear spans keep every parking bay free of columns, so drivers manoeuvre easily and the structure never interferes with operations. PVC membranes tensioned over galvanised steel frames provide dependable UV protection for vehicles in one of the world’s most demanding climates.
Delivered with Al Habtoor Engineering as main contractor, the package demanded meticulous coordination: work permits, airside security clearances and phased installation zones that kept the car park operational throughout. It is one of several packages we have completed at Abu Dhabi International Airport, including the airport’s control tower complex.
